Piano Man

This dude is hilarious. He does covers of songs you wouldn't really think of doing on the piano ... ever wondered what Mariah Carey's "Touch My Body" or Buffy's Theme would sound like?

Viva Si*Se

Highline Ballroom - March 29th, 2008

I must say this was the most chilled out concert I've ever been to. And yet the vibe was awesomely upbeat throughout. Altho opening band Contramano wasn't the best, they get A+ for effort (memorable moment: when grotesquely hot lead singer stuck the mic in Iris' face expecting her to know the lyrics). Carol and her band members were all super down to earth (esp. the winking guitarist man who mingled with the crowd after the show). Carol's outfit was so cute, but what was even cuter was that mama Si*Se was in the crowd too.

My New Toy

I got this from the MoMa store a couple of weeks ago and haven't stopped playing with it since. Turns inside out and switches colours when you toss it ... mindlessly fun. "Switch pitch" (for ages 4 and up).

(Random: That carpet there no longer exists. My apartment got flooded and the floor turned to shit. On a positive note, my floor got revamped this week and is now completely hardwood and a gazillion times better than before. Thought I'd share how significant floors are, do not take for granted ... also doors, but that's another story.)

Glow in the Dark

Creating light illusions while you swing ... speaking of which how long has it been since I've been on one of these things ... about time to hit up the playground again.

Insightful to Say the Least

Iris lent this to me yesterday; my first graphic novel. From Adrian Tomine (who does illustrations for the 'New Yorker'), smartly written - funny & poignant at the same time ... all within the confines of a quick easy read.
